Cracow and Rome become partners

Popular European partnership program has bound two of most popular cities in Europe this time. Presidents of Cracow and Rome have signed an agreement on tourism, youth exchange and culture programs.
Both presidents Jacek Majchrowski and Giovanni Alemanno stressed the fact that John Paul II was the person who created the link between the cities that allowed to start the partnership program.
The idea for a cooperation agreement was put forward a year ago, during Alemanno’s visit to Krakow for the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of Poland regaining her independence. He was very enthusiastic about it as many cultural posts have started similar cooperation with their counterparts in Rome many years ago.
