China and Poland celebrates 60 years of diplomatic relations
On 7th October 1949 diplomatic ties between the People's Republic of China and Poland were established. Two then Communist driven states decided to cooperate with each other.
Both countries changed during those 60 years. China, still not recognizing most democratic standards and violating human rights, has become a leading economy in the world and Poland has become a symbol of overthrowing the Communism in Europe and regrowth in a new political system.
It means that as far as political views are concerned both countries are much further away from each other, but in the same time, they recognize the importance of economic cooperation. For this reason a special part was thrown in Beijing to celebrate the anniversary of starting diplomatic relations between countries.
Addressing a reception, Chen Haosu, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said that China and Poland enjoyed profound traditional friendship and cooperation was boosted in economy, trade, science, culture and education in recent years. Polish ambassador Tadeusz Chomicki made a short summary of those 60 years of cooperation and said he hoped that next 60 years are going to be as successful as last 60 were.
