Famous Polish people who died in 2009
Life is short and death comes in very unexpectedly. These are famous Poles who died during 2009. We will miss them.
Mieczysłąw Rakowski who was the Prime Minister, historian and well known journalist. Jan Machulski – fantastic Polis actor who played many unforgotten roles for example in “Kiler”, Kamila Skolimowska – Olympic gold medallist, world and Europe champion in hammer throw, she was only 26, Franciszek Starowieyski – one of most popular and original Polish painters, Professor Zbigniew Religa – former Minister of Health and fantastic surgeon, Piotr Morawski – Polish climber who climbed six eight-thousenders, died during his expedition on Dhaulagiri, Zbigniew Zapasiewicz – well known actor and director, Professor – Leszek Kołakowski – one of most distinguished philosophers, Marek Edelman – famous Polish soldier who was the leader of the Uprising in Warsaw Ghetto.
