The Valley of Palaces and Gardens awarded in a contest
Polish Tourist Organization has organized a contest for the best tourist product. Adjudication has been announced during the international tourist fair – “Tour Salon” in Poznan, which took place on the 22nd of November 2009.
36 products from whole Poland took part in this prestigious contest. The jury chose 14 best products including Lower Silesian Valley of Palaces and Gardens. It underlines that the valley is one of the most beautiful places in our country. Moreover this sward seems to be the most important among all Polish awards connected with tourism.
The Valley of Palaces and Gardens is a unique place with is picturesque surroundings of Karkonosze Mountains and Rudawy Janowickie. This beautiful region is famous for its marvellous medieval castles, old gentry’s residences, Renaissance landed estates and XIXth century palaces surrounded by magnificent landscapes, especially parks.
The Valley of Palaces and Gardens is being renovated because of its tourist values as an important part of European heritage so many of mentioned monuments are in very good condition. Conservators prepared all needed documents in order to place The Valley of Palaces and Gardens on a list of Historical Monuments of Poland, kept by Polish president. If The Valley of Palaces and Gardens gets this title, it will be possible to register on the UNESCO World Heritage Side.
