Skra Bełchatów in final
Polish champions from Bełchatów have beaten Russian club – Zenit Kazan and reached the final of Club World Volleyball Championships in Doha.
The tournament had 8 teams playing in two groups. Group A comprised Trentino, Zenit Kazan, Plataneros de Corozal of Puerto Rico and Zamalek. Group B featured Polish PGE SKRA Bełchatów, Paykan of Iran, Cimed of Brazil and Al Arabi Doha.
Polish team has beaten every opponent in a group stage reaching the semi-final. The opponent seemed to be very strong because Zenit Kazan was the winner of last edition of European Champions League. The score 3 -1 (15 – 25, 25 – 23, 25 – 21, 26 – 24) shows that Poles were better Zenit with Tietiukhin, Korneev, Ball or Stanley in the squad. SKRA had some problems in a first set and lost 15 – 25, but 3 next set showed that Polish champion was really excellent team.
SKRA Bełchatów will meet Italian champion – Trentino Betclic Volley which eliminated Paykanem Teheran from Iran. It will be an interesting game because both teams are very strong and both of them want to win this prestigious tournament.
