Rescuers from GOPR (Volunteer Mountain Rescue Centre) helped tourists 141 times since May.

“We had 141 actions during the summer season. What is more we had to use our helicopter 20 times. The helicopter of Air Rescue Emergency Service, which stays in Sanok, is ready for our every call. Unfortunately four people died during this season and we are sorry that we could not help them. All I know is that we did everything that was possible to rescue them” – said head of Volunteer Mountain Rescue Centre – Grzegorz Chudzik.

The head also mentioned that Bieszczady Mountains was readily visited by tourist who wanted to admire fantastic views of our beautiful mountains. “More tourists mean more possibilities of accidents because not everyone knows the main rules. There are 202 volunteer rescuers and 16 professional ones who take care of tourist in Bieszczady Mountains and Beskid Niski, especially near Dynowskie and Przemyskie Foothills” – added Chudzik.
