Roman Polański has been released from prison
Swiss court decided to release Roman Polański from prison. Worldwide famous Polish director had to pay 3 million euro bail, give back his passport and report his presence in Switzerland.
The Federal Penal Court in Lausanne has released Polański on bail (4.5 million franc = 3 million euro). What is more, the director should stay in his residence in Gstaad under electronic supervision. Polański is also not allowed to live Switzerland what seems to be very obvious.
“Roman Polański can be released from prison. I do not see logical reason to keep him behind the bars” – explained Eveline Widmer-Schlaumpf, the Ministry of Justice. This opinion seems to be agreed by Polański’s wife’s sister – well known actress - Emmanuelle Seinger – “I do believe that Roman Polański is ready to go to the USA and be brought to trial. He made mistake and must pay for his sins. I want to remind that he is 76 years old, so I cannot even imagine his escape from Switzerland”.
Polański is charged with having illegal sexual intercourse with 13 years old girl, what happened in 1978.
