Tusk allows US troops in Poland
Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk has accepted a deal about statute of US troops in Poland. The most important part of it is a regulation that allows to prosecute by Polish law US soldiers that commit crimes off duty. As a return they are going to become... tax exemptions.
US soldiers' base was necessary to start Patriot missiles program, as US soldiers are going to service rocket launchers. According to RMF FM radio station negotiations of two most important issues from this document are finished.
First of them was the issue of US soldiers commuting crimes off duty out of their base. Now it is certain that they are going to be judged by Polish courts according to Polish law. The second issue concerned tax exemptions. "We gave exemptions, but not to all and they are limited. This way both sides are happy" - Deputy Defense Minister Stanisław Komorowski told RMF FM. However he did not want to talk about any details of this issue.
The deal itself is going to be signed on 10th December.
