Good year for Polish cinema

Polish cinema had recorded a good year thanks to a ...crisis. Without help of Public Television some historic, high budget productions had to be canceled. However the money could be distributed among low budget productions. According to Polish Film Institute 60 such films were produced.
Such well known artists as Wajda, Morgenstern, Holland, Zanussi, Gliński, Bugajski or Falk decided it was a proper time to go behind the camera again. However it also gave an impulse to a new generation of directors that has freshen up our cinema bringing energy, unconventional world view and new language with them.
