46th Jazz at Odra River Festival
On the 28th February 2010 a new project of Pat Methenry is going to start a 46th Festival Jazz at Odra River in Wrocław. This year such artists as Vincent Herring (one of the best saxophonists in the world), Ron Carter (known for his cooperation with Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter) are going to perform as well. However, the most awaited star is definitely Leszek Możdżer.
The Festival offers a whole range of Jazz music. Along “classics” such as Herring or Carter, artists such as smooth-jazz saxophonist David Sanborn or US-Indian duo Raw Materials are going to perform.
Also Leszek Możdżer is going to perform this year. – Możdżer is a favorite of our audience, so we invite him every year to our Festival. We asked our audience last year, who would they like to see this year and Możdżer was their first pick – Czwojda explains.
There is also good news for young musicians – Ron Carter is going to take part in three day workshops designed especially for them.
Concerts are going to take place in People’s Hall and in Old Film Studios as well as CS Impart club that replaced Jazz Club Rura.
Tickets for Pat Metherny concert are available right now (prices 100 zł, 150 zł, 180 zł). Tickets for other events will be distributed form the beginning of the New Year. Prices: CS Impart 20 -100 zł, Old Film Studios 50- 130 zł.
