More and more children are born in Poland
There can be seen very high population growth, which was started in 2008 – writes “Dziennik”.
Last year it was said not about Polish baby boom but about “demographic echo”. It means that today babies are born by mothers who were born in the baby boom in the beginning of 80’. Last year (whole 2009) almost all Polish labour wards were bursting at the seams and paediatricians started alarming about high number of born children with congenital diseases. In the end on 2009 Polish authorities were sure that it was real baby boom. On the other hand, according to statistical bureau – Eurostat, Polish women give fewer births than women do in all other countries in the European Union.
The worst was 2005 with only 364 thousand born children what gave us negative population growth (4 thousand). In 2008 there were more than 400 thousand born children, (413 thousand people).
