India in Warsaw
It is a one of a kind centre in Central Europe. Centre for Contemporary India Research and Studies will start its activity in Warsaw. The creation of the Centre was able thanks to the UE grant (more than 270 thousand Euro), that on the beginning of October 2009 the Institute of International Relations of the University of Warsaw received. In the race for the EU money the project of the Institute has turned out to be better than proposals of French, British and German universities.
Centre will be running multidisciplinary research dedicated to problems of the contemporary India, their economy, culture and politics. A pioneer second level studies of Indian subject matter will be launched, led in English for students from Poland and abroad. Graduates of these studies could be working in EU institutions but also in companies investing in India or Indian companies wanting to invest in Central Europe.
The Centre has also an ambition to be the place of meetings of various environments interested in tightening the partnership with India.
