Poles without an Oscar

Nominated in 9 categories “Avatar” got only 3 statuettes from the American Movie Academy. And not in the most important categories, because the Oscar for directing and the best picture was given to the creators of the film about the war in Iraq “Hurt Locker”. Our “Rabbit à la Berlin” hasn’t got an award.

“Rabbit à la Berlin”, a film directed by Bartek Konopka has not received this-year’s Oscar in the best documentary short category. An American documentary “Music by Prudence” has won in this category (directed by Roger Ross Williams). “Music by Prudence” is a story about a girl from Zimbabwe, who is disabled and through singing she defeats her limitations.
