Martial law lawsuit
Wojciech Jaruzelski, Czesław Kiszczak and Stanisław Kania introduced the martial law in Poland at night 12-13 December 1981. Now, finally, the suit against them was brought. The process will start on September 12th - the district court in Warsaw informed.
The allegations include the following: managing and participation in "criminal military association, aimed at commiting crimes". This association was, according to the court, Military Council of National Salvation, to which 84-year-old Jaruzelski - the then Secretary of PZPR, Poland's prime minister and head of MON, 82-year-old General Kiszczak - the then head of the MSW (Ministry of the Interior) and the 80-year-old Kania, the then secretary of KC PZPR belonged to .
All three defendants did not pleaded guilty. They also refused to answer questions during the inquiry.
