From 15th till 17th May, 2008, on the Association of Local West-Mazurian Tourist Organization (Stowarzyszenia Zachodniomazurska Lokalna Organizacja Turystyczna) initiative, the Study Tour through western Mazury region took place.
Our stay began in Miłomłyn, where on the outskirts of this town a modern Cardiological Medical Rehabilitation Center "Miłomłyn" is located. The Medical Center is a part of a three star hotel.

Professional staff, comfortable conditions and, above all, the devices for cardiac diagnostic and physiotherapy is worth mentioning, as well as swimming pool and criochamber, which will put you back on your feet to vigorously start a new day.

In "Miłomłyn" Centre not only can you check the condition of your health but also comfortably get some rest surrounded by forest and lakes.

Then we were guests of the farm "Samsara" in Łukta. In the Mrs. Joanna Harasymowicz's farm beside the very pleasant and friendly reception awaiting us, we could also try tasty, home-made food and drinks, all this from her home production. Main feature was the horse riding.

Here, I cannot skip the horse show performed by my colleague in journalism, John Hajdun, who did not intended to dismount a horse at all. In addition to fourteen horses in agrotourist Samsara, there are also other animal: goats, sheeps, hens, dogs and rabbits.

The speciality of the "Samsara" are holidays in saddle and horse-riding camps. And all this surrounded by beautifull forest and the nearby lake.

It is worth to go there to eat something, I am talking about Warmian Inn (Karczma Warminska) where we had the opportunity to spend one night and eat dinner. Restaurant different than others, in respecting tradition. Interior as well as the whole restaurant is built of wood, you can find a big courtyard with antique objects in the middle. And of course these traditional Warmian food, plank of meats, traditional Polish soup made from fermented rye and many others, and everything is delicious. During the summer the Inn organise Warmian Feast (Biesiada Warmińska) in the courtyard of the premises.

The second day we began with visit in the Museum of Folk Building in Olsztynek. This is a etnographic park, an open-air heritage park. We had there a possibility to see houses, farms from Warmia, Mazury and Litwa. All of them were equipped with original old devices and appliances from nineteenth century. The mill, a windmill, forge, inn and even fire station, everything in folk atmosphere.

Museum organise a number of folk fairs where you can buy domestic sausages, goat cheese and to familiarize with the folk craft.

Last night we spent in the "Karnita's Castle" hotel situated close to the picturesque, beautiful lake Kociol. Hotel is in fact a castle built in neo-Gothic style. Here you can swim with boats, ride on a horse, eat roast wild boar and admire beautiful XIXth century castle, where you can find many chambers and hotel rooms.

This is the end of our Study Tour throug beautiful surroundings of the Western Mazury.
